British Values

Pembury House Nursery School and Children’s Centre actively promotes the fundamental values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths or beliefs.

These are interpreted by our children as learning right from wrong; learning to take turns and share; and challenging negative views and stereotypes. We do not promote views and theories that are contrary to established scientific or historical evidence and explanations.

British Values

Pembury House Nursery School and Children’s Centre actively promotes these fundamental British Values:

British Value

What do children learn at Pembury?

Democracy

We respect everybody as individuals, celebrate difference in people and support children to take turns and share

The rule of law

At Pembury we are learning right from wrong. We work together to agree rules. We are learning to share and take turns. We all help to tidy up.

Individual liberty

We listen to everyone’s point of view. Children are helped to make the right choices and are encouraged to become independent.

Mutual respect

We share learning between home and school and encourage parents to be actively involved in their children’s learning. We value children as individuals and respect all cultures, beliefs and languages.

Tolerance

We encourage positive behaviour and attitudes towards others. We enjoy the rich cultural and ethnic mix of Pembury families and celebrate diversity.
